Trainer Stuart Kendrick and his family have completed a rags to riches story with I’ve Bean There, selling the two-year-old originally purchased for just $13,000 to Hong Kong for a $900,000 bonanza.
I’ve Bean There looked like he was set to be a spring player in Australia, finishing fourth in the Group 1 Champagne Stakes (1600m) which was won by Captivant at Randwick in April.
I’ve Bean There was only two lengths off the winner and only a neck behind third-placed Converge who went on to win the Group 1 JJ Atkins during the Queensland winter carnival.’

The company blamed years of declining ridership, the COVID-19 pandemic and a lack of financial help from provincial and federal governments for its abrupt decision to close.
“The pandemic, and required travel restrictions to help keep Canadians safe, brought a further dramatic drop of approximately 95 per cent of normal volumes before operations were fully suspended in May 2020,” the company said.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic started in in March 2020, Greyhound Canada was struggling to maintain services. The company cut the number of trips on some routes and suspended operations in western Canada in 2018.
Greyhound Canada said it appealed to provincial and federal governments for financial help, but little was offered.

Due to sustained ridership declines in Ontario and Quebec, Greyhound Canada made the difficult decision to discontinue all operations on its remaining routes in Ontario and Quebec, and permanently closed all services in Canada as of May 13, 2021.

A full year without revenue has unfortunately made it impossible to continue operations.
