DVIDS - News - Army's top chaplain helps celebrate 'revival of Jewish life' at Bliss

The Army’s top chaplain joined the Fort Bliss Religious Support Office, the Jewish worship community at Fort Bliss and El Paso, and distinguished guests for a traditional dedication of the Torah scroll at Fort Bliss, Texas, April 26, 2021.
Chaplain (Maj. Gen.) Thomas Solhjem, the U.S. Army’s Chief of Chaplains, and Sgt. Maj. Ralph Martinez, the U.S. Army Chaplains Corps’ regimental sergeant major, joined the Bliss RSO and unit ministry teams from across the installation as they gathered before installing the Torah in a face-lifted Chapel 3, the synagogue at Fort Bliss.
With many distinguished guests in attendance, Solhjem said he appreciated the engaged show of support for the RSO and the people who made the revitalization of Chapel 3 a success. ....

International City Theatre will begin showing its newest production, Slow Food by playwright Wendy MacLeod, virtually Thursday-Sunday April 29th through May 16.
The play follows a husband and wife celebrating their 23rd wedding anniversary until things go awry during their anniversary dinner. The comedy is led by actor and producer Stu James and Lifetime star Meredith Thomas. James’s acting work has earned him multiple awards, including a Broadway World Award, Los Angeles for “Best Lead Actor” in a musical for his portrayal of John Dolphin in the musical, Recorded in Hollywood.
Thomas has acted in multiple Lifetime television movies including “The Wrong Crush” and “The Wrong Boy Next Door” alongside Vivica A. Fox. ....
