20th Century Studios Hires Four New Creative Execs Under President Steve Asbell (EXCLUSIVE)

Walt Disney-owned 20th Century Studios has added four new creative executives to its roster under production president Steve Asbell.
Asbell, who succeeded Emma Watts in the top job last March, welcomes a slew of pedigreed creatives to his team including Sarah Shepard, Brian Dukes, Rashonda Joplin and Catherine Hughes.

The upcoming 20th slate includes the Ryan Reynolds comedy action film “Free Guy,” the ensemble murder mystery “Death on the Nile,” “The King’s Man” and Steven Spielberg’s “West Side Story.” The four new hires complement a creative team that includes Scott Aversano, J. R. Young and Colin Greten.
Change is coming at the top of Hollywood’s biggest movie studio. Alan Bergman and Alan Horn “The Alans,” as they are nicknamed have jointly led the Walt Disney Studios group as co-chairmen since May 2019. But as of January 1, they will hold different titles.
Who is now what?
Alan Bergman (top) has been named sole chairman of Disney Studios Content, in which capacity he will oversee creative, production, marketing, and operations for the group. Alan Horn will remain the studios’ chief creative officer, but will no longer be co-chairman. Both will report to Disney CEO Bob Chapek.

MUMBAI: The shuffling is continuing at the Walt Disney Co as CEO Bob Chapek works on creating an organisation that can prosper going forward. In Disney’s latest announcement, Chapek named Alan Bergman as chairman of Disney Studios Content, with Alan Horn who was earlier co-chairman serving as its chief creative officer from 1 January 2021.
“Our studios are unmatched in their ability to create incredible cinematic experiences, and with this new structure, we are ensuring a vital continuity of leadership,” said Chapek.
Bergman’s responsibilities will expand to oversee creative, production, marketing, and operations for Disney Studios Content, which encompasses the world-renowned production studios Disney, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, 20th Century Studios, Searchlight Pictures, and Blue Sky Studios,
