Haiti has requested that the United Nations and the United States send troops to help secure key infrastructure after the assassination of President Jovenel Moise plunged the country into political turmoil, according to several reports.
A letter from the prime minister’s office to the UN offices dated July 7 – the day Moise was shot dead in his home – said the aim was “to support the efforts of the national police aiming to reestablish security and public order in the whole territory”. The letter was reviewed by the Reuters news agency. ....

Haiti has asked Washington and the UN to send troops to help it secure its ports, airport and other strategic sites after the assassination of President Jovenel Moise, a government minister said Friday.
The United States has already said it will send FBI and other agents to Port-au-Prince, two days after Moise was brutally killed by gunmen in his home, opening up a power vacuum in the impoverished and crisis-hit Caribbean nation. ....

La investigación sobre los móviles y responsables del asesinato del presidente de Haití, Jovenel Moise, podría dar un giro de 180 grados.
Esto, después de que se conocieran testimonios que ponen en duda la participación de los exmilitares colombianos detenidos en la isla por el crimen, ocurrido en la madrugada del pasado miércoles.
El exsenador y ex candidato presidencial opositor, Steven Benoit, aseguró a medios que el magnicidio fue cometido por los agentes de seguridad de Moise y no por los colombianos que, afirmó, habrían sido víctimas de una trampa.

MADRID, 10 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) – La Policía de Haití ha anunciado la detención de un total de 19 personas relacionadas con el asesinato del que fuera presidente del país, Jovenel Moise, 17 de las cuales son colombianas.
