S-203: An Act to Restrict Young Persons’ Online Access to Sexually Explicit Material
 Sen. Julie Miville-Dechêne’s bill would make it an offence to make sexually explicit material available to young people on the internet.
The bill says the consumption of sexually explicit material by people under age 18 is associated with a range of serious harms, “including the development of pornography addiction, the reinforcement of gender stereotypes, and the development of attitudes favourable to harassment and violence including sexual harassment and sexual violence particularly against women.” ....

The Liberal minority government will have to wait until the new year to pass some of its priority legislation. 
Before the House of Commons rose last Friday for six weeks over Christmas, only four bills had received royal assent. They included two COVID-response bills, as well as appropriation bills on granting funds for public administration, appropriation bills being legislation that passes all stages at once.
