Michael S. Abrams its chief financial officer.
In alignment with the company’s succession plan, Abrams joins Arch’s financial team in the role previously held by Richard Davis. Davis will remain with the company during a transition period, which will end on June 30, after which he will support the company in a consulting role through Dec. 31.
Abrams has more than 25 years of experience as a chief financial officer to numerous public and private companies; principal investor; investment banker; merchant banker; strategic and financial adviser; and board member. His capabilities span a broad range of activities with a particular expertise in the areas of operational management, complex financial engineering, financial advisory and capital markets strategy primarily for companies in the technology and healthcare sectors.
Tara A. Kilgallen of

Framingham office.
Kilgallen has 20 years of experience as a yoga instructor in Massachusetts and California, and is currently as instructor at Common Ground Yoga in
Framingham. She previously served as co-director of Yoga at Lumina Mind Body Studios - Longfellow Health Clubs in
Wayland and
She was also a yoga instructor at Bosse Sports in
Sudbury. Before that, she was the director of yoga and retail manager at Tushita Heaven in San Juan Capistrano, California.
She earned her bachelor’s degree from Lesley University in Cambridge and completed her real estate training at Freedom Trail Realty School in Cambridge.
UB faculty members Thomas Russo, Frank A. Scannapieco and Bianca Weinstock-Guttman have been named SUNY Distinguished Professors, the highest rank in the SUNY system.
They were appointed to the distinguished professor rank by the SUNY Board of Trustees at its April meeting.
The rank of distinguished professor is an order above full professorship and has three co-equal designations: distinguished professor, distinguished service professor and distinguished teaching professor.
Russo, Scannapieco and Weinstock-Guttman were all named Distinguished Professors in recognition of their international prominence and distinguished reputations within their chosen fields. According to SUNY, “this distinction is attained through significant contributions to the research literature or through artistic performance or achievement in the case of the arts. Thomas A. Russo, SUNY Distinguished Professor of Medicine who has been a leader in educating the public about COVID-19, will be awarded the Chancellor Charles P. Norton Medal, UB’s highest honor, as part of the university’s 2021 commencement season, taking place April 30 through May 16.
UB alumnus Dexter Johnson, NASA Technical Fellow for Loads and Dynamics, and Peter Rogerson, SUNY Distinguished Professor of Geography, will receive the UB President’s Medal in recognition of extraordinary service to the university.
Also this commencement season, SUNY honorary doctorates are being presented to UB alumnus C.K. “David” Chu, Distinguished Research Professor Emeritus at the University of Georgia, and UB alumnus and longtime faculty member William Kinkel, founder of the Dent Neurologic Institute.
