On Sunday (Jan. 24) officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged two drivers for excessive speed/stunt driving while they we
re conducting speed enforcement along Highway 10 in the Town of Caledon.
At approximately 2:17 p.m., on Highway 410 and Hurontario Street, a 28-year-old from Orangeville was stopped for going 154 km/hr in in an 80 km/hr zone.
As well, at approximately 1:10 a.m., on Highway 10 near Charleston Side Road, a 24-year-old from Mississauga was stopped for going 108 km/hr in a 50km/hr zone.
Both drivers were charged with Stunt Driving and received an immediate seven-day vehicle impound and driver’s license suspension. They are scheduled to appear! in Caledon East Provincial Court to answer to the charges. ....

The OPP’s Highway Safety Division have laid a shocking number of charges so far this year, during a time when residents have been ordered to stay home except for essential purposes.
From January 1st until January 4th, the OPP laid 79 Impaired Driving Charges and 33 Stunt Driving charges.
OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt says these aren’t just speeding charges either. ....

Two G2 drivers stopped for racing on Limebank Road 60 km/h over the speed limit: Ottawa police

Two young drivers will ring in the New Year without a vehicle after Ottawa police stopped the pair racing on a south Ottawa road.
On Twitter. Sgt. Craig Roberts said police stopped two G2 licenced motorists racing each other at upwards of 60 kilometres an hour over the posted speed limit.
Roberts tells CTV News Ottawa the two were speeding on Limebank Road as the snow was falling Wednesday evening.
A hard lesson and hopefully a serious adult conversation with mom and dad about the privilege of driving.
The 19-year-old and 20-year-old drivers face a charge of stunt driving, which includes a seven-day licence suspension and the vehicle impounded for a week. ....

Ottawa police are handing out stunt driving tickets to motorists caught speeding on Ottawa roads ahead of the holiday season.
On Tuesday, officers stopped a vehicle travelling 183 kilometres an hour on Limebank Road.
Riverside South residents deserve safer streets … our officers continue to remove the worst-of-the-worst from local roadways on a daily basis, said Sgt. Craig Roberts on Twitter.
