SCOTTISH Water has apologised to customers in Lerwick who have experienced discoloured water as a result of a fault on the local network on Friday.
The service provider said it wanted to reassure customers that their water remains safe to drink and use normally.
A spokesman said a fault with a pressure-regulating valve resulted in higher than normal flows through part of the local network.

This disturbed natural sediment within the pipes, resulting in yellowish and brownish tinges to the water as it came out of residents’ taps on Friday morning.
