David Wright has been mayor of Ballina Shire for the past eleven years and has held a seat on the council for the past seventeen so it’s fair to say his time has been epic in local government terms.

NSW agronomist, farmer, business founder and agri-tech innovator, Emma Ayliffe, is the 2021 Young Farmer of the Year and says the main benefit of such an accolade is in the opportunities it brings to be part of a community of people keen to push boundaries.
Emma was named the winner at the Kondinin Group and ABC Rural Australian Farmer of the Year Awards which were recently held at Parliament House in Canberra and officially opened by federal Agriculture Minister David Littleproud.
“The benefits are in the networks that you build and being able to create a community around you that are all doing really exciting things and pushing the boundaries,” Emma told The Muster. ....

Apprenticeship schemes have fast become a route to future employment for thousands of school leavers, as the Scottish Government’s Youth Employment Strategy set out an ambition to reach 30,000 apprenticeship starts annually.
Openreach judge Anna Steven said: “It’s been fantastic to be associated with the first Edinburgh Apprenticeship Awards.
We’ve been hugely impressed by the high calibre of entrants. As one of Scotland’s biggest employers of apprentices, we know what a massive contribution they make. And it’s never been more critical than in this past year, with many apprentices on the front line as key workers during the pandemic. ....

William H. Mortimer (June 18, 1940 - December 22, 2020)


William H. Mortimer, of Casper, passed away December 22, 2020. Bill was born June 18, 1940 to Harold and Caroline Thompson Mortimer of Green River.
He graduated from Green River High School in 1958 and the University of Wyoming in 1962 with a degree in Range Management. It was also in 1962 he married his beloved wife of 58 years Kathleen Dvorak Mortimer. Bill took a job in Pinedale to begin his 42 year long career of service with the Bureau of Land Management and the United States Government.
Bill served in the US Army from 1963 to 1965 and was stationed in Virginia where their first son Gregory was born on a Marine Base in a Navy hospital. After his discharge the family moved to Casper, Wy, then to Worland, WY, Riverside, CA, Barstow, CA, and back to Casper, WY. During this time, three more sons were born: James, Christopher, and Jonathan. ....
