Symposium honors Wyoming women producers – Sheridan Media

One woman agricultural producer from each Wyoming County and the Wind River Indian Reservation will be recognized at the 2021 Heart of Agriculture Symposium on April 29 at the CAM-PLEX Energy Building in Gillette. The symposium will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature speakers addressing critical issues facing Wyoming agriculture. The women, who are nominated by peers in their counties, will be recognized at the luncheon, which starts at 1 p.m. The event recognizes notable women producers who are active in both agriculture and community activities. The day’s speakers include Wyoming State Senator Affie Ellis of Laramie County, who will discuss the role of women in policy making, and Lander rancher Timmery Hellyer, who will talk about balancing ranching and community activities.

Dolgeville, Utica couples welcome first babies born at area hospitals

Staff reports Two area couples said goodbye to 2020 and hello to a new family member on New Year s Day. Allan Cotton arrived a week early to Mallory Diederichs and Scott Cotton of Dolgeville at 9:31 a.m. Friday at the Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, according to an announcement from the hospital. The 9 pound, 3 ounce and 22-inch long infant is the first to be born at the hospital in the new decade. I already know it s going to be a great year because of his arrival, and his brothers and sisters are very excited, Diederichs said in the announcement. It s all been about family time during this pandemic. All is good.
