Lincolnview Board OKs deal with teachers

SCOTT TRUXELL/ Lincolnview teachers now have a new contract in place after action taken on Monday. The Board of Education formally approved a new three-year deal with members of the Lincolnview Local Education Association during Monday night’s monthly meeting. The contract, which begins July 1 and runs through June 30, 2024, includes annual raises of 2.5, 2.25, and 2.5 percent, plus a memorandum of understanding of 2.5 percent for a fourth year. The station will have great items to bid on, including autographed memorabilia, restaurant gift cards, and services from local businesses.  A Dream Board with more unique items will be available for bidding all day. Last year’s auction was postponed due to the pandemic.  The station has set an ambitious goal of raising $20,000 through this year’s fundraiser. Local businesses and residents still have time to support the student radio station by donating items.   Businesses that donate can benefit from the exposure they will receive on 88.1 The Park.  Most importantly, they will be helping a program that has impacted the lives of students and served the Plymouth-Canton community for 49 years.

During his report, Superintendent Jeff Snyder noted that the U.S. Department of Agriculture has approved free school lunches for the 2021-2022 school year. This means that all students are eligible to receive a free standard breakfast and lunch; ala carte menu items can be purchased at an extra charge.
