Smith Twp. trustees honor Ken O Brock s park efforts The Alliance Review Smith Township trustees awarded their Outstanding Citizenship award Wednesday night to Ken O Brock. During the monthly meeting, Trustees David Mannion and Scott Showalter presented O Brock with the award in recognition of O Brock s unselfish dedication to serve the residents of North Benton, Ohio, trustees said in a news release. The award was given in gratitude of his exceptional generosity in furthering the welfare of our Township through the construction of a pavilion addition to the Township Park in North Benton, the release said. This park was made possible through the generosity of Ken and Sharen O Brock. Town of Southbury Launches Online Permitting Written by Town of Southbury The Town of Southbury is proud to announce the launch of a new online permitting system. The introduction of the City Squared system to request building and zoning permits online minimizes the need for residents and contractors to visit Town Hall. The permitting system is open to everyone and is easily found on the Town website home page www.southbury-ct.org and on the Building and Zoning Department pages. Those who have used the City Squared system in other towns can use their existing account. Payment can be made online with a credit card or electronic check transfer from a bank account. While announcing the appointment, Leng said Austin will fulfill the duties of Acting Town Planner alongside, and in tandem with, the responsibilities of Town Engineer. The move comes a little more than a week after Leng announced several changes to key senior-level positions in his administration. Leng also named former Mayor Scott D. Jackson as the town s new finance director in late January. ....
