TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Kansas Jayhawks completed play at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional on Wednesday, finishing in seventh place at six-under. Kansas shot four-under on the final day – the team’s best round of the tournament – to finish three shots behind fifth-place TCU. Kansas, TCU, Ohio State and Georgia Southern battled throughout the day for the final spot with the Horned Frogs ultimately holding on. Host Florida State won the regional at -34. “We played well today, and came up a little short,” Coach Jamie Bermel said. “We had three freshmen and two juniors in the lineup this week. I don’t coach and the guys don’t play for moral victories, but I am extremely proud of the fight we had this week. Unfortunately, our season ends today, but we had a good year after losing two seniors to graduation. I hope this motivates the guys to get better over the summer, and when they get back in the fall, we will be ready to go.” ....
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Kansas Men’s Golf team shaved two shots off its score on Tuesday at the second round of the NCAA Tallahassee Regional at Seminole Legacy Golf Club. The Jayhawks shot a two-under 286 as a team and now sit at two-under overall for the tournament in seventh place. Coach Jamie Bermel’s team is five shots behind fifth-place Ohio State with the top five teams from the regional advancing to the NCAA Championship in Scottsdale, Arizona. “It’s a big day on Wednesday for the Jayhawks,” Bermel said. “We need to put a good round up and see what happens. The key is all five guys need to play well, and we just can’t give strokes away. It should be a lot of fun, and I’m excited to see how we can do.” ....

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Kansas Men’s Golf Team qualified for NCAA Regional play for the fifth time in five straight tries on Wednesday as the Jayhawks were selected for the Tallahassee, Florida regional. The postseason will officially begin for Kansas on May 17 at Seminole Legacy Golf Club. The Jayhawks are the No. 9 seed in the regional. Host Florida State is the No. 1 seed in the regional, with Georgia, Liberty, LSU and Georgia Tech rounding out the top five seeds. Georgia Southern, TCU and Indiana are seeded six through eight ahead of the Jayhawks. Rounding out the regional are USC, Ohio State, Davidson, Florida A&M and LIU. ....
HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The Kansas Men’s Golf team finished in seventh place at the 2021 Big 12 Championship at Prairie Dunes, which wrapped up Wednesday afternoon. The Jayhawks shot a combined one-under in the final two rounds after being at +42 after the first two rounds. Kansas finished five shots behind Baylor and 11 shots ahead of eighth-place Kansas State. Junior Harry Hillier shot a final-round 72 to secure a top-20 finish with a T19. He finished the tournament with a 69-72 after opening with a 76-74. William Duquette finished one shot behind Hillier at +12 and tied for 22 nd. Duquette shot back-to-back 71s to finish the tournament strong. ....
