Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Seneca County. 
New York s first state veterans cemetery will be in Seneca County.
A nine-member selection committee voted Monday to designate Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery as a state veterans cemetery. The vote was unanimous in support of the site in the town of Romulus. 
The state Division of Veterans Services recommended Sampson to the committee after receiving 11 responses to a request for information that was issued in February. The agency examined each of the proposed sites and released a report that endorsed Sampson to be the first state veterans cemetery.  ....

A protest led by the Ithaca Tenants Union in partnership with the Party of Socialism and Liberation and Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫʼ Cayuga peoples grabbed the attention of the federally-recognized Nation’s leadership and a crisis public relations firm based out of the nation’s capital.
As the solidarity campers continue staying outdoors to stand watch in Seneca County, the Ithaca Tenants Union organized a demonstration on Saturday, May 22, billing it as a “protest against the violent evictions and human rights abuses of Gayogo̱hó꞉nǫʼ Nation BIA [Bureau of Indian Affairs] Rep. Since its inception, Community Action Programs Cayuga/Seneca’s Food Recovery Program has been a force in tackling food insecurity and addressing emerging challenges through innovation and thoughtful collaboration. Over the past year, we have been flooded with images of long lines at food pantries, often only seen in history books, that have brought the largely hidden issue of hunger to the forefront. For some, it s no longer just the homeless man visiting the soup kitchen, it is hard-working families and individuals simply struggling to make ends meet.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture defines food insecurity as a lack of access to enough nutritionally adequate food for an active, healthy lifestyle for all household members. It’s a complex problem that does not exist in isolation and though closely related to poverty, not all people living below the poverty line experience food insecurity, and people living a ....
