VP Chiwenga pays tribute to Lt-Gen Nyikayaramba

VICE-President Chiwenga has described national hero, Cde Douglas Nyikayaramba, who was Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to Mozambique as a “gallant son of the soil” who contributed immensely to the liberation of the country.
Ambassador Nyikayaramba succumbed to Covid-19 complications last week at St Anne’s Hospital in Harare while on annual vacation.
In his message of condolence, Vice- President Chiwenga said the nation should draw solace from the diplomat’s immense contribution to the country’s independence in 1980.

The British government has imposed targeted sanctions on Zimbabwe’s police commissioner, director of the Central Intelligence Organization, state security minister and former commander of the presidential guard, accusing them of serious human rights violations.
In a statement posted today on its website, the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office the also imposed similar sanctions on the Zimbabwe Defence Industries, noting that the restrictive measures were made under the Sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2018 (the Sanctions Act). ....
