DSP, three SHOs ordered to appear before PA’s committee today National April 22, 2021 LAHORE: Punjab’s home department directed one DSP and three SHOs to appear before Privileges Committee of the Punjab Assembly today (Thursday). According to sources, MPA Suhail Shaukat had complained before the Privileges Committee that one DSP and three SHOs of Lahore had breached privilege of an elected member by entering his house without any kind of search warrant. He had complained that on January 13, 2021, his resident in Batapur Lahore, DSP Rana Atif, SHO Naeem Bajwa, SHO Mian Liaqat and SHO Zulfiqar entered without any permission and without search warrant. They spread terror in the area by firing in the air. They had broken lock of the gate, he mentioned in the privileged motion submitted to the Privileges Committee. Excelling SHOs awarded March 11, 2021 PESHAWAR: Senior Superintendent of Police Yasir Afridi on Wednesday awarded commendation certificate to the station house officers (SHOs) for performed well during the campaign against proclaimed offenders. A press release said the SSP awarded SHO of Mathra Taimur Saleem for being on top in the campaign while SHO Pishtakhara Hafeezur Rehman and SHO Faqirabad Hassan Khan were awarded for second and third positions. It said overall the Rural Sub-Division remained on the top during the campaign followed by Cantt and City divisions. SHOs directed to ensure presence at police stations Peshawar February 5, 2021 MARDAN: Station house officers (SHOs) in the district have been asked to ensure their presence at police stations for two hours on a daily basis. A police spokesman said that District Police Officer Dr Zahidullah Khan issued the directives at a crime review meeting with all SHOs of Mardan district. The SHOs were directed to be present at their respective police stations from 2pm to 4pm daily. SP investigation Tariq Habib Khan, SP Operation Rahim Hussain Yousafzai, and other circle DSPs and SHOs attended the meeting. Speaking at the meeting, the DPO asked the officers to expedite actions against drugs, particularly ice, land mafia, one-wheeling and underage driving and other social evils. ....
Over 20,000 police officials across states and union territories were transferred in 2019 within a period of two years of their posting, with more than 70 per cent of the shunting happening at the station house officer (SHO) level, according to official data. Altogether, there were 20,637 transfers of police officials during 2019 within two years of their field posting, the Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR&D) stated in its latest data on police organisations updated till January 1, 2020. Officials included in the tally are SHOs, deputy superintendents of police (DySPs), assistant commissioners (ACPs), district SPs (SPs), deputy commissioners (DCPs), deputy inspector general (DIGs), inspector general of range (IG Range), additional CPs, and police commissioners who were transferred within a year or between one and two years of their posting. ....
