A Dursley man who drove with excess levels of cocaine in his blood has been banned from the roads for 14 months. Shane Stephens, 36, of Third Avenue, Highfield, pleaded guilty at Cheltenham Magistrates Court last Friday to driving in Tredworth Road, Gloucester, with cocaine and Benzoylecgonine (a cocaine metabolyte) in his body at illegal levels. The incident occurred on April 20, 2020. Mr Stephens has been fined £120 and ordered to pay £40 costs and a £34 surcharge to fund victim services. The magistrates gave him until January 29 to pay the total due of £194.
The artistic talent in Lincoln County can be astounding and sometimes shows up at strange times. These times of COVID can certainly be coined as strange. Itâs to some extent because of the pandemic that Elijah Smithâs talent came under the spotlight.
Graduating from Lincolnton High School in 2016, Smith was offered a scholarship at Mars Hill University where he was attending until COVID struck. He returned home this spring to look after his mother, Sajohnna, who is immunocompromised. Since returning home, Smith landed a job at The Meating Place in Lincolnton and is performing gigs in the area such as during the Christmas Crawl and Festival of Trees earlier in December and at Untapped Territory.
