Now, between the band Thinner Friends and as Madeline Darby, song has become an active creative endeavor. Last June, the electro-punk outfit released an eponymous six-track EP. And in mid-January, Darby issued “Innovation,” her first full-length solo project. A blend of experimental rock, electronica and post-punk, “Innovation” is making waves, having already sold out the initial run of cassettes distributed by UK-based label Industrial Coast. “This project kind of started about two-and-a-half years ago,” Darby said. “It’s my first time ever really doing any kind of formal release on my own. I had dreams of doing something like this, but never really had an outlet.” ....
