The Big Bang Theory for 12 seasons were quite shocked when
The Flight Attendant debuted on HBO Max. While Penny had been known to have her vices over the years, Cuoco s new character, Cassie Bowden, had a far darker existence, and was faced with a murder mystery so twisty and darkly comical, that it was suddenly very easy to forget that Penny Hofstadter ever graced our screens.
The series also garnered rave reviews from critics and viewers alike, and even netted star Kaley Cuoco her first two Golden Globe nominations, one for acting and the other for Best TV Series â Comedy or Musical. So, we can imagine that many of you are awaiting

“The Flight Attendant,” Kaley Cuoco’s HBO Max dramedy-thriller, premiered to rave reviews on Thanksgiving and the buzz for it built as episodes dropped through December. “It’s definitely been my baby,” Cuoco said during a recent interview with
Variety for the magazine’s Feb. 24 cover. “I don’t mean to be cheesy, but this has definitely been the highlight of my entire career.”
The project was born out of Cuoco’s nighttime scroll through Amazon in July 2017, where she saw the listing for Chris Bohjalian’s upcoming novel. She then proceeded to get the rights to the book, resulting in the first live-action series produced by Cuoco’s Yes, Norman Productions. With all eight of its episodes dropping in than a month, HBO Max s acclaimed thriller
The Flight Attendant gave viewers a winter send-off with the TV equivalent of a summer beach read. Based on the actual book from author Chris Bohjalian,
The Flight Attendant delivered plenty of drunken turbulence for Kaley Cuoco s Cassie Bowden and a variety of other characters ahead of the Season 1 finale. But it all came to an end (for now) with the episode Arrivals and Departures, which tied up the storyline s loose threads in ways that practically begged for a second season to be ordered.

Christopher Nolan might consider HBO Max the “worst streaming service,” but maybe that’s because he hasn’t yet watched
The Flight Attendant. The fledgling platform’s buzzy limited series has generated strong reviews and a seemingly devoted fanbase online (like other properties, HBO Max does not release viewership data). It concluded this week with a finale that left open a number of possibilities for more episodes.
“We’re definitely having conversations about what a second season would look,” star and executive producer
Kaley
Cuoco told
Vanity Fair’s Little Gold Men podcast this week before the debut of the show’s finale. “Nothing s ever for sure. But when I look at it, the finale, if we don’t get a second season, then it s like, ‘Yeah, it was a limited series.’ And if we do, then we were like, ‘Yeah, we were meant to have a second season all along.’ I think we played it right. So I’m hoping for one.”

Since “The Flight Attendant” premiered on HBO Max, Kaley Cuoco has been fielding her friends’ and family members’ best guesses about who the show’s mysterious murderer might be. One of her girlfriends swears it’s fellow flight attendant Megan; Cuoco’s father is convinced North Korean spies are involved. Another friend’s mother told Cuoco that she was disappointed the series made it so obvious that the killer is, of course, Miranda.
