ISLAMABAD: Justice (R) Sheikh Azmat Saeed, who headed the Broadsheet Inquiry Commission and has submitted his report to the federal government, has indirectly made an extremely harsh dig at politicians who had strongly criticised his appointment.
Despite constant attacks by opposition politicians over his appointment, the former Supreme Court judge did not change his mind and accepted the job. Similarly, Prime Minister Imran Khan, who had selected him for the assignment, had remained undeterred by the severe condemnation of Sheikh Azmat Saeed. Broadsheet inquiry commission chief recovered original record of Swiss accounts case, says Fawad Chaudhry
ISLAMABAD:
Federal Minister for Science and Techonology Fawad Chauhdhry has said that the federal government is mulling to reopen infamous Swiss accounts case dated back to 1990s against PPP leaders including co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari.
“Asif Zardari was acquitted in Swiss accounts case because NAB officials at that time said that they did not have original record of the case documents which was an utter lie,” Fawad said while addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Thursday.
He said the chairman of Broadsheet inquiry commission former apex court judge Azmat Saeed Sheikh has recovered the original record of the case. ....

Justice (retd) Sheikh Azmat Saeed, the head of an inquiry commission to investigate the Broadsheet issue, has informed the government that he did not desire any salary or perks for his work as the commission head.
The matter of the salary for the former Supreme Court judge is part of the agenda of the federal cabinet meeting, which will be chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday (today). The government proposes pay and perks of Justice (retd) Azmat equal to that of a Supreme Court judge. ....
