One of Shirley Warrington s granddaughter s, Aleisha Hofman, is involved in a Facebook page - Search for Shirley - which is helping to co-ordinate on-going searches. The family are also using the page to distribute fliers for volunteers to deliver. Not everyone is on social media, so just getting the word out to every area of Christchurch. Get people talking, get people looking in case she has wandered out of the area, or been taken out of the area. Every little bit of help is appreciated. ....

STUFF The disappearance of Christchurch woman Shirley Warrington, 85, has baffled her family and searchers. It is believed she left her home with husband Wally, also in his 80s, before venturing to either Ferrymead or Sumner about 8.30pm, her daughter Karen Colville said. Concern mounted as four nights went by in freezing conditions. From what Wally Warrington – who she described as “frail” – had told Colville, her mother had suffered a suspected “dementia moment”. Colville told Stuff on Wednesday the nights were the worst when she worried for her mother. “At night it hits you more. It’s those quiet moments. Then at 6am, I feel I’ve got to get busy, try to keep it together. ....
