THE EDITOR, Madam: I salute the memory of Shirley Samuda JP, a former principal of New Forest All-Age in Manchester who was an outstanding educator, a proud graduate of Mico Teachers’ College who had a real passion for education, sports and community development. Mr Sam, Justice, Soon Come, Skipper, Cowboy, Maroon, Mawga Lion, are names he was affectionately called and he was well known in St Elizabeth and Manchester. He was a classy batsman, a fine spin bowler who captained the St Elizabeth cricket team for many years. He had the heart of a lion, a highly competitive spirit, and believed passionately in discipline and determination, especially the determination to win. It was his belief in discipline and determination which made New Forest All-Age a giant among primary schools during his leadership. ....
