MUMBAI: A local NGO has filed a public interest litigation (PIL) before Bombay high court citing example of measures taken by other cities including Madurai and Bangalore to seek installation by BMC and state of hand sanitizer dispensing machines in all public places including railway stations, trains, buses, slums. Invoking these measures as a part of citizens right to life, the PIL says, “Civic Bodies of Bengaluru, Chennai, Guwahati Coimbatore and Raipur started using drones to spread disinfectant to disinfect any surface contaminated by the deadly Virus.’’ Cities like Madurai, Tirupur and Kochi installed Hand-wash facilities to help control the virus. For efficient geographical coverage in disinfection of public streets, Cities of Rajkot and Surat have adopted high-clearance boom sprayers, says the NGO, Citizen Circle for Social Welfare and Education, represented by advocate Shehzad Naqvi. ....
