Two days ago about 3,000 people smashed the glass doors of the vaccination centre and stormed inside creating panic among members of staff at the centre. They were protesting against the shortage of Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines.
Officials of the capital administration said on both days, the police could not disperse the crowd. Like June 28, staff at the centre suspended their work on Wednesday due to the hostile situation and remained captive for hours, the officials said.

The crowed was annoyed when staff informed it about unavailability of Pfizer and AstraZeneca. The crowd later gathered at 9th Avenue, resulting in closure of the avenue from Shaheen Chowk to F-8 Exchange Chowk.

Islamabad: The 52nd meeting of the Capital Development Authority Development Working Party (CDADWP) on Wednesday approved development projects worth Rs24.268 billion for the federal capital.
The meeting was chaired by CDA Chairman Aamir Ali Ahmed and attended by officials from the Ministry of Interior and Planning Commission and CDA board members.
The projects approved by the meeting would be completed in different time spans of one to five years. An official said that the CDADWP approved record allocations during the meeting held on Wednesday.
The projects approved by the meeting include Rs7,200 million project of construction of parking plazas at different commercial places of Islamabad within a period of five years and Rs3,296 million plan of Margalla Avenue, while Rs1,804 million have been reserved for remaining development work in Sector D-12.
