Aligarh Muslim University: Orientation programme held for interns

Aligarh: Despite serious impediments caused by the COVID pandemic, the academic activities at the Aligarh Muslim University are being carried out through online mode to provide educational opportunities to its students. The Medical Education Unit, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College organized an online orientation programme for 2016 MBBS Batch interns.
Addressing the inaugural session, AMU Vice-Chancellor Professor Tariq Mansoor emphasized the importance of conduct and behaviour for an intern as these qualities make medical profession the noblest of all professions. He advised interns to make good use of internship t and congratulated them on their successful completion of the course.
The Vice-Chancellor also released the Log Book for a compulsory rotating internship as per the competency based undergraduate curriculum, introduced this year by the National Medical Commission and adopted by the JNMC. ....

AMU mourns demise of Prof Mohammad Nasiruddin

Prof Nasiruddin will be missed deeply by friends, colleagues and students, said Prof Shahid Ali Siddiqui (Principal, JNMC).

Prof Nasiruddin was also associated with various committees and organisations. He has been the Coordinator of ADR Monitoring Centre at JNMC, under the aegis of Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

Prof Nasiruddin published many papers in peer-reviewed journals, authored academic books, wrote book chapters, and edited many books. He was appointed as lecturer in 1999 and was eventually promoted to the posts of Associate Professor and Professor respectively.

ALIGARH: Genome sequencing of Covid-19 samples has not found any new coronavirus strain behind the infection around the AMU campus, university authorities said Sunday as another member of their fraternity died.
Professor Abu Qamar, 75, the former dean of the Faculty of Medicine in the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital died here on Sunday of Covid-19 after battling it for nearly three weeks, JNMC Principal Shahid Ali Siddiqui said. ....
