Shawnee Living lights up the night for charity

Shawnee Living partnered with the residents in Indianbrook and Wildbrook neighborhoods to show off more than 4,000 paper bags filled with sand and candles that lined the streets, along with their decorated yards. A new tradition this year was Santa and a mailbox for families to turn in letters for him to read. There was no cost to attend but people were encouraged to bring canned goods, toiletries, or money to support the West Ohio Food Bank and help others out during the holiday season.
Jodie Robinson, owner of the Shawnee Living Magazine said, âItâs always meaningful for us to be able to give back to the community, but probably this year more than ever. We know that families have been hit hard, so if we can do something to create a beautiful Christmas tradition but then also be able to give back to others, itâs just a win-win for everybody involved.â ....

REGION Celebrate the season with the many choices this week:
• Lima Symphony Orchestra’s virtual “Bells, Brass & Bows The Nutcracker” concert will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Van-Del Drive-In, 19986 Lincoln Highway, Middle Point.
The concert will be available to watch at the drive-in and via streaming at home.
Featured artists include dancers of the Cincinnati Ballet Professional Training Division, with a video crew traveling to Cincinnati to film them dancing for this concert, and a choir number recorded by students at Liberty Arts Magnet. ....

Shawnee Luminary Night returns for a night of holiday spirit

Something that won t be changing this year, hundreds of homes in Shawnee plan to light up the night next Tuesday.
The fourth annual Shawnee Luminary Night returns to the Indianbrook and Wildbrook (165 Tolowa Trl, Lima, OH 45805-4124)Â neighborhoods.Â From 6 to 9 p.m., at no cost, families are invited to drive through the neighborhood and let the luminaries light your way from house to house. Like years past, a collection for the West Ohio Food Bank will take place. New this year will be Chief Supermarket and N & H Concession providing a few treats. Also, families will get the chance to deliver their letters to Santa. ....

Shawnee Luminary Night scheduled for Tuesday
Shawnee Luminary Night: 6 to 9 p.m., Indianbrook and Wildbrook neighborhoods of Shawnee Township. Free, with donations accepted for West Ohio Food Bank.

LIMA The fourth annual Shawnee Luminary Night will be 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15 with nearly 350 homes participating with more than 4,000 paper bags filled with sand and white candles in the Indianbrook and Wildbrook neighborhoods.
The event is free to the public, but organizers will collect canned goods, toiletries and monetary donations for the West Ohio Food Bank. For every $1 raised, the food bank can provide six meals to the hungry. Representatives from Basement Doctor will be stationed at both Indianbrook exits to collect donations. ....
