Door-to-door campaigns, meetings with prominent persons held on poll eve It was yet another hectic day for candidates on Monday, on the eve of the crucial polling day.
Most of the candidates used the day for completing door-to-door campaigns and meeting prominent persons. They also utilised the final hours before polling to ensure that party workers would be out in the field on Tuesday, to see to it that maximum number of votes were polled.

In 2019, T.J. Vinod managed to defeat LDF candidate by a small margin When he began formally campaigning on Sunday, T.J. Vinod, the United Democratic Front (UDF) candidate in Ernakulam constituency, may have struggled to shrug away memories of a rainy day in 2019.
Two years ago, on a day when it rained heavily and the majority of voters chose to stay indoors, the voter turnout in Ernakulam dropped to an all-time low of 56%. The results delivered a shock to the UDF as Mr. Vinod managed to get past his nearest rival by a margin of just 3,673 votes, the lowest winning margin for a Congress candidate from the UDF stronghold. Despair gripped the Left Democratic Front (LDF) camp as they lost the seat between the cup and the lip.
He interacted with voters at a meeting organised by the Kettida Nirmana Thozhilali Union area committee.

KOCHI: Even as the UDF and the NDA are yet to declare their respective candidates, the LDF has launched its poll campaign a day after announcing Shaji George as the CPM-backed independent candidate for the Ernakulam assembly segment.Shaji on Thursday visited noted writer M K Sanu to seek his blessings. He also met writer K L Mohana Varma, Ernakulam Kara Yogam general secretary P Ramachandran and poet S Ramesan Nair.
He interacted with voters at a meeting organised by the Kettida Nirmana Thozhilali Union area committee. “Voters should use this election to express their dissatisfaction with the Centre, which has been denying financial aid to Kerala,” he said.

KOCHI: Three sitting MLAs, two experienced campaigners and four new faces. When the CPM announced its candidates for nine seats for Ernakulam district, the tally looks like a mix of youth and experience. Out of the total 14 constituencies in Ernakulam, the CPM has given five seats to its allies.
Among the candidates announced by the party on Wednesday are sitting MLAs Antony John (Kothamangalam), M Swaraj (Tripunithura) and K J Maxi (Kochi). However, another sitting MLA and senior leader S Sarma was not given another term.
