Families of three youth killed in encounter in Kashmir claim they were civilians SECTIONS Share Synopsis The relatives and neighbors of slain youth protested outside the Police Control Room here in Srinagar, where bodies of the trio were brought for medico-legal formalities before transporting them to the graveyard in Ganderbal district of central Kashmir, which is over 120 kms from their hometowns in southern Kashmir. SRINAGAR: Family members of three youth killed in an encounter in HMT area on the outskirts of Srinagar on Wednesday claimed that they were civilians, present in their homes until December 29. They alleged that the trio was killed in a staged encounter, which started in the HMT area near Srinagar-Bramullah highway on the afternoon of December 29. The three youth killed in the encounter were identified them as Zubair Ahmad Lone, I his early 20’s from Turkawangam area of Shopian, Ajaz Maqbool Ganai, in his early 20’s of Putrigam and Athar ....
Police solved ATM theft case, accused arrested and cash recovered Police solved ATM theft case, accused arrested and cash recovered SRINAGAR: On 27.11.2020, Branch Managar J&K Bank Khumani Chowk Bemina Srinagar reported that cash amount of Rs 9,06,400/- (Rupees Nine Lakh Six Thousand and Four Hundred only) is missing from ATM Machine Khumani Chowk. On receipt of the written complaint of the Manager a Case FIR No. 258/2020 U/S 380 IPC was registered in PS Parimpora and investigation taken up. During the course of Investigation, the Scene of crime was minutely examined, it was found that ATM Machine was locked as usual without any mark of damage/violence to it. ....
Excelsior Correspondent Srinagar, Dec 16: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh who is currently on week long tour in Kashmir valley today visited Police Complex PCR Kashmir and Zainakot here. Accompanied by IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar and DIG Central Kashmir, Amit Kumar, the DGP first visited PCR Complex Kashmir and later visited Zainakot Srinagar, which are proposed sites for an NGO/OR Mess and a Police Housing Colony respectively for Jammu and Kashmir police personnel. At PCR, the DGP inspected various units and enquired about the facilities available to the Jawans. The DGP was briefed by SSP PCR, Shahid Mehraj, and other officers regarding the functioning of these units and facilities being provided to the police personnel. ....
