MUMBAI: An elderly man filed a complaint with the police after his tenant allegedly duped him of Rs 2 crore after threatening him to transfer the money to his account for not getting him trapped with the income tax department.
Victim Jeron D’souza (73) has been hiding ever since 2019 after his tenant, one Shankar Panchal has been searching to bump him off. D’souza transferred the money to Panchal’s account after he threatened to trap him through IT officials and he will spend the rest of his life in jail. Andheri police registered the first information report (FIR) against Panchal after the probe based on the written complaint that D’souza in December 2020 confirmed the offence. ....
