PHC briefs traders on Pak-UK trade opportunities

LONDON: The Pakistan High Commission, London has held an event on trade and investment opportunities between Pakistan and the United Kingdom, aiming to answer queries of British and Pakistani business community on import potential from Pakistan, tariff concessions available in the UK market and to apprise the participants about investment prospects in Pakistan.
The virtual Khuli Katchehri was held on Wednesday, and was attended by more than 70 British and Pakistani businessmen, office bearers of the chambers, and trade bodies, a press release said. The event was also attended by many existing and potential investors with keen interest in doing business with Pakistan. Roshan Digital Accounts welcomed by overseas Pakistanis: Javed Malik

LONDON: Chairman, UK-Pakistan Business Council, and former Ambassador of Pakistan, Javed Malik has welcomed the introduction of Roshan Digital Accounts by the State Bank of Pakistan, saying it can pave the way for investment in the country by the overseas Pakistani business community as it allowed greater flexibility and transparency to invest, including repatriate investments.
Javed Malik was speaking at an international webinar organised by UK-Pakistan Business Council in collaboration with Pakistan Stock Exchange and Pakistan High Commission in London. He said irrespective of where they reside, the hearts of overseas Pakistanis always beat with Pakistan and they can play a key role not only in financial activities but also enhancing the scope of trades between Pakistan and other countries. ....

LAHORE: UK Pakistan Business Council Chairman and former ambassador of Pakistan Javed Malik has welcomed the introduction of Roshan Digital Accounts by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).While appreciating the move of SBP, he said that it could pave the way for investment into Pakistan by the Overseas Pakistani business community as it allows greater flexibility and transparency to invest as well as repatriate investments, says a press release.

LONDON: Pakistan High Commissioner Moazzam Ahmad Khan has shared with the business community that Pakistan would continue to benefit from the UK’s trade preferences scheme at par with the EU GSP Plus facility after Brexit.
According to a statement issued the other day, he was delivering a key-note address at a webinar on “Post-Brexit UK’s GSP Scheme and Potential for Pak-UK Trade”, jointly organised by the Pakistan High Commission, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), and Ministry of Commerce on Monday. Besides the officials of the Ministry of Commerce, TDAP, and chambers of commerce & industry, a large number of businessmen from Pakistan and the UK attended the webinar. The High Commissioner highlighted the significance of the UK market for Pakistan, saying: “The duty-free access to Pakistan on more than 90 per cent of its exports is a good omen for the UK-Pakistan future trade and investment relations”. ....
