QUINCY, Fla. (WTXL) â Positivity is contagious and James A. Shanks Middle School in Quincy is spreading the good vibes. During their positivity week, school leaders are encouraging students that positive behaviors lead to positive results.
âWe are a school, our focus is on academics,â said Shanks Middle School principal Maurice Stokes. âBut we are also responsible for making sure that we shape and cultivate young people into productive citizens.â

QUINCY, Fla. (WTXL) â Gadsden County Public Schools officials announced Thursday that students will be able to return to Shanks Middle School on Friday, after a water main break on Wednesday sent them home indefinitely.
The school said they are still awaiting water test results, but they are providing hand washing stations and bottled water for students and staff for the time being.
Meals for the students will be provided from another school, GCPS said.

GCPS released a statement Wednesday afternoon announcing that students will not return to campus indefinitely, and will be learning virtually until the water issues are fixed, after a water main broke earlier in the day.
