From today, people aged 40-49 have joined the eligibility list. We have two vaccination centres in the City of Whittlesea. Council Offices, 25 Ferres Blvd, South Morang (follow the signs to the PRACC building): Open: Friday 28 May – Monday 31 May from 10am-8pm Open: Tuesday 1-Friday 4 June from 8am-8pm Available for: Astrazeneca vaccines only for those aged over 50 years, and 40-49 year olds who are eligible under Phase 1A and Phase 1B (ie health workers). No appointment required. Date Time Council commemorates Sorry Day for 20th consecutive year City of Whittlesea today commemorated National Sorry Day and reflected on the forced removal of Aboriginal children from their families, communities and country, as well as the ongoing suffering experienced by descendants of the stolen generation. Chair Administrator Lydia Wilson highlighted the importance of the day for Council’s leadership, staff and community members. “Acknowledgement is so important, but today is really about apologising,” Ms Wilson said. “We are apologising for the policies of past parliaments and governments that have brought immense suffering and loss to Aboriginal communities here, in what we now call the City of Whittlesea, and around the country. ....
