Vantage Board celebrates students, teachers as school year comes to close

VAN WERT – During Thursday’s Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Rick Turner celebrated the hard work of students and educators during a very different school year.
“As we enter the end of a memorable school year, we have a lot to celebrate,” said Turner. “Our students and staff have done an amazing job to make this a very successful year and we thank them for their dedication and commitment to the mission of what we’re here to accomplish.”

Vantage Career Center has a new adult education director.
Angie Fahy will replace Kit Tyler, who’s retiring June 30. Fahy currently serves as financial aid and program assistant at Four County Career Center in Archbold. She was given a two-year contract during Thursday night’s Vantage Board of Education meeting.
In other personnel moves, the board approved a three-year contract for High School Director Michael Knott, along with a four-year intervention specialist Heather Brickner. Contracts were also approved for criminal justice instructor Zacharia Miller, cosmetology instructor Susan Smith, electricity instructor Mel White, construction equipment technology instructor Christopher Miles, and auto collision instructor Daniel Edwards.

VAN WERT The Vantage Career Center Board Of Education met Thursday evening in the Cup and Saucer.

Rick Turner provided Board members with an update on the COVID
vaccinations at the school, noting that adult practical nursing students
have been assisting in administering the vaccine not only at Vantage
but at other locations as well. He said the governor has requested
schools to submit an extended learning plan to get students caught up
