Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Wednesday donated 20 oxygen concentrators to Corporation Commissioner Gagandeep Singh Bedi on behalf of his Kolathur Assembly constituency.
On May 24, Minister for Medical and Family Welfare Ma. Subramanian and Minister of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department P.K. Sekar Babu chaired a COVID-19 MP and MLAs’ review meeting at the Greater Chennai Corporation. During the meeting, it was decided that three MPs and 22 MLAs in the Corporation limits could donate 20 oxygen concentrators each a total of 500.
Based on this decision, Mr. Stalin donated the equipment on behalf of the Kolathur constituency. Minister for Electricity V. Senthil Balaji and Mr. Sekar Babu were present. ....

Minister for Electricity V. Senthil Balaji said that a separate ward with 50 beds have been arranged to provide treatment for black fungus cases at the Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College Hospital here.
Speaking to reporters after reviewing the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the district here on Tuesday, the Minister said that the ward had been classified into two categories, COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 wards and 25 beds each have been allocated for COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 patients to undergo treatment for black fungus. ....

The minister chaired a virtual review meeting with the department officials on Sunday. Persons in 18-44 age group getting COVID-19 vaccination at a health facility in Salem on Monday.

The vaccination drive for 18-44 age group began in Salem, Namakkal, Erode and Dharmapuri districts on Monday. In first phase, the vaccine will be administered to persons in priority groups identified by the State government.
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin launched the vaccination for 18-44 age group at Tiruppur recently. However, the drive did not begin in other places due to lack of guidelines. The Health Department here launched the drive on Monday after the State government provided direction as to who should receive the vaccine in priority and the centres for administration of vaccines. ....
