or Rick And Morty, where instead of being a bunch of nonsense where nothing matters, it’s a bunch of nonsense that takes itself seriously. Some of the Marvel stuff is used to set up jokes that comic fans will appreciate more than others (famously annoying villain Arcade shows up and shouts “I hope you like being confused!” while laying out his needlessly complicated evil scheme, which is perfect), but that comes more from the show emphasizing a playful take on what these iconic characters are like more than just trying to score points with the nerds. Nowhere is any of that clearer than with M.O.D.O.K. himself, voiced here by series co-creator Patton Oswalt (a role that he was born to play, if there’s a way to say that without it sounding like an insult). This version of M.O.D.O.K. is petty and small and bitter over the fact that life hasn’t given him what he thinks he deserves, specifically ....
Loki Screenshot: Disney+ We first got a glimpse of Owen Wilson as Mobius, Loki’s time travel parole officer of sorts, in last December’s trailer for Disney+’s Loki, where he calls out Loki for lying about not liking to talk. In an exclusive clip that aired during last night’s MTV Movie And TV Awards, we got to see an extended version of that interaction. Advertisement In the clip, Mobius formally introduces himself to Loki, who is handcuffed while riding the elevator with him at the Time Variance Authority. Loki ignores Mobius’ attempt for a handshake, because Loki’s not there for pleasantries not to mention he’s shackled. “Are you taking me somewhere to kill me?,” asks a wary Loki. We see the exchange again where they banter about Loki’s blatant lie. Loki proves him right immediately, asking about his work at the TVA. ....
60 Minutes would like to remind you that UFOs are real One of the weirdest things about living in the 21st century is that the American government has confirmedthat it’s been seriously investigating UFOs for a long time but nobody (outside of, we imagine, some of the most intense corners of the internet) really seems to care very much. In an effort to once again try to generate interest in the fact that there are weird aircraft pretty regularly flying around up above us, 60 Minutes decided to air a special on what we’re now supposed to call “unidentified aerial phenomena” (or UAPs). ....
The latest Wondery podcast to transition to the small screen is Dr. Death, based on the first season of journalist Laura Beil’s series on deadly doctors and the systems that enable them. Like Dirty John on sister network Bravo, it looks like Peacock’s Dr. Death kicks the melodrama up a few or 20 notches, as evidenced by this very dramatic trailer: To be fair, Joshua Jackson seems to be giving the sort of on-the-nose performance you’d expect from a series called pause for impact DR. DEATH. Co-starring Alec Baldwin, Kelsey Grammer (yeah it’s that kind of party), Christian Slater (whose previous role in ....
