(Representational) New Delhi: A 23-year-old former manager of a dairy product company and his friend were arrested for allegedly robbing a Romanian woman in southeast Delhi s Lajpat Nagar area, the police said on Thursday. The accused have been identified as Hardik Arya, a resident of Vaishali Sector 6 in Ghaziabad, and Sonu Kumar (23), a residernt of East of Kailash, they said, adding that three cases have been solved. On Wednesday, police received information regarding robbery with a woman near Defence Colony flyover, Lajpat Nagar-I. Police rushed to the spot and met complainant Simona Elina Chihai, a citizen of Romania, a senior police officer said. ....

Picture used for representational purpose only GHAZIABAD: Even as the city is struggling with rampant garbage dumping in almost every municipal area, the civic body as come up with an ambitious plan of launching “spot the garbage” challenge on social media, especially Twitter, from this week. Under the initiative, residents will be asked to tag the civic body along with pictures of garbage dumps in their area and the civic body will clean them within 24 hours and provide the geo-tagged photo with location and timing. Officials said that initially they will clean the spot in 24 hours, but over the period of time, the response time will be reduced to just two hours. They added that the department has also formed a “Team-100” comprising one volunteer from each ward whose job will be to keep an eye on civic issues and inform the official concerned so that timely action can be initiated. ....
