The READ Team, traveled to three different locations on Wednesday allowing children to wonder in the mobile library and select two books of their choice. As Regional Interfaith Association’s (RIFA) Bus Stop Café pulls into The Villages of Old Hickory apartment complex, the driver takes a trip around the complex periodically honking the horn to alert the children living there of their arrival. While the big colorful bus is making its presence known, there’s another colorful vehicle getting set up for work with the children of the area as well. It’s The Read Team and their WOW (Words on Wheels) Wagon.

Court Coaches Announced for 2021 USA Women s U19 World Cup Team Trials Date: May 12, 2021 Trials to select the 2021 USA Basketball Women’s U19 World Cup Team will feature two court coaches on hand to help the USA U19 coaching staff, including  Katrina Merriweather (University of Memphis) and  Teri Moren (Indiana University). Both coaches will be participating with USA Basketball for the first time, and selections were made by the USA Basketball Women’s Junior National Team Committee.  Trials to select the 12-member team will be held May 14-16 at Metro State University in Denver. The court coaches will assist the USA U19 coaching staff, including head coach

ATLANTA - Mother’s Day weekend will be a loss for one metro Atlanta family.  Instead of celebrating, one mother and the community around her are mourning the tragic shooting death of her 15-year-old daughter.  One by one, candles were lit at a vigil to remember 15-year-old Diamond Johnson. It took place in the same location where she was shot and killed.

A rep for GoFundMe tells 11Alive that Gilliaum Bibbs has organized a fundraiser on behalf of Johnson’s family. Johnson lost her life in the area of 790 Glenwood Avenue after groups of teens were involved in a series of fights in the immediate area - confrontations that eventually ended in gunfire.
