Manchester spirits brand Zymurgorium bolsters sales team Spirits and liqueurs brand Zymurgorium has kicked off 2021 with two new appointments to its sales team. Peter Wells and Joe Worthington will lead the sales team and help the distillery achieve its growth plans for the year ahead. Based in Irlam, Greater Manchester, Zymurgorium conducts its distilling, bottling, warehousing and office functions on one site. It employs 18 people and has a portfolio of 30 products which are stocked by companies including John Lewis, JD Wetherspoon, Greene King, Master of Malt, and wholesalers Matthew Clarke. Peter joins the company from Halewood Artisanal Spirits, where he worked as a sales director and was invovled in the growth of the Whitley Neill gin range. Prior to this he worked with whisky brand Whyte & Mackay. ....
Kate Nicholls and Richard Paterson made OBEs 7th January, 2021 by Melita Kiely UK Hospitality chief executive Kate Nicholls and Whyte & Mackay master blender Richard Paterson were appointed OBEs in the Queen’s New Year Honours list. Kate Nicholls, chief executive of UK Hospitality, was recognised for her services to hospitality Nicholls was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to the hospitality sector, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic. Nicholls commented: “While I am personally thrilled and honoured to receive this recognition, I have to pay tribute to the entire UKH team for their tireless work and campaigning throughout this year [2020], continually highlighting to government the specific challenges our sector faces. This year has been one of continued despair and heartbreak for hard-pressed hospitality businesses. ....
