Temple vandalised in Vizianagaram; opposition leader Naidu blames government

Visakhapatnam: A temple in Ramatheertham Hill near Nellimarla in Vizianagaram was district was vandalised by some unknown persons leading to angry protests by several groups.
Activists belonging to Bharatiya Janata Party and its ally Jana Sena headed by Pawan Kalyan slammed the government over the attack on the temple.
The temple belonging to Lord Ram was reportedly vandalised on Sunday night. Police sources said they had launched search to track down the culprits.
The TDP, BJP and Jana Sena have organised rallies separately to protest against the incident coinciding with the visit of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to Vizianagaram to launch a housing programme for the poor. ....

VIZIANAGARAM: Unidentified miscreants vandalised an idol of Lord Rama atop the 400-year old Ramatheertham temple in Nellimarla mandal, close to Vizianagaram, on Tuesday. Endowments Department regional joint commissioner D Bhramaramba has been appointed as the investigating officer to probe into the Ramatheertham idol desecration case on Wednesday.
This incident took place ahead of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s tour in Vizianagaram on Wednesday for the house site distribution scheme.
YSRCP leader and MP from Vizianagaram, Bellana Chandrasekhar, MLA of Nellimarla constituency Baddukonda Appala Naidu and MLC Penumatsa Sureshbabu immediately rushed to the temple after getting to know about the incident. Nearly 35,000 people donate 12,153 litres in eight hours
The birthday celebrations of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy were marked by blood donations across the State.
The day saw a record of 34,723 people donating blood in eight hours.
Representatives of the Wonder Book of Records International, who certified the record, had presented the citation and a medal to Government Adviser (Public Affairs) Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy at the party central office.
Blood donation camps were set up in 175 constituencies in the State and also in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu totalling 278. As many as 34,723 people donated 12,153 litres of blood. ....
