Burning permit restrictions are being expanded across parts of southern Manitoba starting Sunday, the province says.
That s because of continued dry conditions, strong winds and predicted warming weather, the government said in a Saturday news release.
Those restrictions are being expanded to include areas one, two, three, five and eight, the release said.
That area is bordered by Provincial Road 302 to Provincial Trunk Highway 12 to Provincial Road 317 to Provincial Trunk Highway 59 & Provincial Road 319 on the west, all the way to the Ontario border. ....

The Manitoba Wildfire Service advises that due to continued dry conditions, strong winds and predicted warming weather, burning permit restrictions are being expanded across southeastern Manitoba, effective Sunday, May 9.
Restrictions remain in place for Areas 6 and 7, which include Spruce Woods Provincial Park, Spruce Woods Provincial Forest and surrounding Crown land, as well as the Criddle/Vane Homestead, Turtle Mountain and William Lake Provincial Parks. Campfires will still be allowed in approved fire pits in provincial campgrounds, but restrictions are being expanded to include Areas 1, 2, 3, 5 and 8.
This area is bordered by PR 302 to PTH 12 to PR 317 to PTH 59 & PR 319 on the west, all the way to the Ontario border, and from the U.S. border north to the Dauphin River and Berens River. In southwestern Manitoba, restrictions are being added to Area 8, from PTH ....

The Manitoba Wildfire Service advises that due to continued dry conditions and predicted warming weather, burning permit restrictions are being implemented immediately in southwest Manitoba.
Campfires will still be allowed in approved fire pits in provincial campgrounds, but restrictions are in place for all other parts of Areas 6 and 7, which include Spruce Woods Provincial Park, Spruce Woods Provincial Forest and surrounding Crown land as well as the Criddle/Vane Homestead, Turtle Mountain and William Lake provincial parks.
Many municipalities have already proactively implemented burning restrictions this spring, so also check with local municipal offices for more information or view the interactive Current Municipal Burning Restrictions at manitoba.ca. The province will not issue any burning permits within or areas bordering any municipality where the burning rest ....

Province lifting fire restrictions in southwest area due to recent snow

The winter storm that is hitting Manitoba means some changes are being made to fire restrictions.
The Manitoba Wildfire Service said on Tuesday that the recent weather means the province is lifting all fire and travel restrictions in southwest Manitoba.
The lifted restrictions are for areas including Spruce Woods Provincial Park, Spruce Woods Provincial Forest and surrounding Crown land, the Criddle/Vane Homestead, Turtle Mountain and William Lake provincial parks.
Even though the restrictions have been lifted, people are being reminded that municipal restrictions might still be in place and must be followed.
The province is also reminded ATV riders to stay on developed trails and make sure their vehicle has a working spark arrestor and this will help ensure fires aren t started. ....

The Manitoba Wildfire Service advises that recent significant weather changes have allowed the province to lift all of the current fire and travel restrictions in southwest Manitoba.
Restrictions have been lifted in Areas 6 and 7, which include Spruce Woods Provincial Park, Spruce Woods Provincial Forest and surrounding Crown land and the Criddle/Vane Homestead, Turtle Mountain and William Lake provincial parks. Restrictions are also lifted within the Lauder Sandhills Wildlife Management Area within the Rural Municipality of Grassland.
