Michigan to pause use of Johnson & Johnson vaccine per FDA recommendation We will follow the FDA’s guidance to temporarily pause the Johnson & Johnson vaccine out of an abundance of caution. Author: Associated Press, 13 ON YOUR SIDE Staff Published: 9:37 AM EDT April 13, 2021 Updated: 9:11 PM EDT April 13, 2021 LANSING, Mich Michigan is putting a pause on the single-dose Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine in line with guidance from the federal government out of an abundance of caution. Eric Holcomb recently announced the state would receive 13,000 more doses, raising its weekly federal allotment to 91,000. More good news followed: the county will begin receiving 1,000 more vaccine doses for at least the next four weeks, said county deputy health officer Dr. Mark Fox. Thatâs an increase from 1,500 to 2,500 per week, enabling the health department vaccine clinic to increase daily vaccinations from 300 to 500. ....

I entirely agree the government shouldnât interfere with my body in situations that have no bearing on public health. How very hypocritical it is then that Kruse and other Indiana legislators, most of them Republican, oppose a womanâs right to make decisions about her body. In those cases, he believes itâs perfectly appropriate for the government to put stumbling blocks between a woman and her right to choose to terminate a pregnancy. ....
