For more than 35 minutes, boaters expressed their concerns, namely those specific to this summer’s “dock island,” which floats several hundred yards offshore. The boaters also detailed other safety, communication and mismanagement concerns they’ve had with the marina over the past two years. They said the town’s decision to keep several of the full summer slips out on dock island has resulted in inconveniences as well as safety concerns. Each winter, the marina stores the docks out on the lake before bringing them back to shore for the summer season. ....

Frisco Town Council unanimously approved the appointment during its regular meeting Tuesday, July 13. O’Rourke also replaces Jeff Durbin, former town manager of Fraser in nearby Grand County, who became interim Frisco town manager in May. Durbin applied for the Frisco position in 2016 and again for the vacancy this year. Durbin said in an interview Wednesday, July 14, that he is now working on his transition plans to move on to his next adventure. ....
Frisco returned to conversations surrounding the lack of affordable housing in the area last week, hoping to improve on older tools in the town’s arsenal and come up with new ideas to combat the growing need for attainable units to house the town’s workforce. The Frisco Town Council held a wide-ranging discussion on housing issues during a work session meeting Tuesday, June 8, meant to identify the biggest barriers to solving the problem and the foundational steps officials need to take to find remedies. Frisco’s housing coordinator Eva Henson provided council members with a presentation on the current state of housing in Frisco to help contextualize what officials are up against, in particular with regard to short-term rentals. Henson said Frisco currently has a population of over 3,100 people, and there are about 3,600 total housing units.
