A grand summertime tradition returns to the shores of Lake Pepin with the 47th Stockholm Art Fair on Saturday, July 17.Â
More than 90 new and returning artists have been juried into the one-day festival 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Stockholm Village Park. They will showcase work in all media including pottery, metal sculpture, jewelry, painting, printmaking, photography, fiber, wood, and glass. Former coordinators and longtime exhibiting artists Linda Day- Dunlap and Jean Accola will return as judges for the artistsâ awards.
Accompanying them will be a diverse lineup of musical performers gracing the stage throughout the day. All have played at a festival in the past.
Heartland singer and songwriter Trapper Schoepp visits Cavalcade at 8:30 p.m. with a live song contribution to our Bob Dylan Celebrity Roast 80th birthday edition.
Trapper earned his place in Dylan lore when he set to music an unpublished, recently discovered Bob Dylan poem called On, Wisconsin. The snarky ode to the Midwest world that Bob was leaving behind was scribbled out at his very first recording session in New York, sixty years ago. Wauwatosa s own Trapper Shoepp (do ya think they have Wau-Waus in Wauwatosa?) took a stab at making a song out of it, and scored publishing rights with his name right along side The Bard s.
