Glenville State College is getting ready to celebrate a special time in the school s history. Dr. Mark Manchin s inauguration as Glenville State s 26th president, closely following that of United States President Joe Biden, will be part of a full week of events, starting April 5 with an all-college picnic and the crowning of homecoming royalty.
Festivities continue April 6 with the Pioneer Showcase, a day of student presentations of research and creative projects.
On April 7, faculty and staff will have a reception with the president and the first family and starting at 4 p.m. at the President s lawn. The following day, students are invited to dinner with the Manchins for a premium night at Mollohan’s Restaurant starting at 4:30 followed by entertainment in the Rusty Musket.

GLENVILLE Spring Open House Weekend for prospective students will be held April 10-11 at Glenville State College.
Students and their families can choose one of the two days to visit campus.
On Saturday, check-in will take place from 9:30-10 a.m. at the I.L. and Sue Morris Stadium, followed by a welcome from 10-10:30 a.m. An academic fair featuring academic departments and information on degree programs offered will be held 10:30-1:30 p.m. in the Waco Center parking lot, followed by lunch at noon. The Pioneer football team will take the field at 1:30 p.m.
Helping the countyâs increasing population of people who are mentally ill is no small or simple task, which is why Bell Countyâs mental health deputies and civilian mental health providers are working toward enhancing their collaboration.
