BOLIVIA Tyler Louis Johnson, 36, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021.
Tyler was born in Olathe, Kansas, and graduated from DeSoto High School. He had been a volunteer in the Johnson County Fire Department in Kansas.
Upon moving to North Carolina, he was a firefighter with Boiling Spring Lakes Fire Department. He then became the chief of the Southport Rescue Squad. When the Southport Rescue Squad and the Southport Fire Department merged, he became the deputy chief and then assistant chief in the Southport Fire Department. He had also served with the Oak Island Fire and Rescue, Pender County Fire and Rescue and worked part time with Brunswick County EMS as an AEMT.
