MAINSITE Contemporary Art to host 'The Left Hand of Liminality' opening as first public reception in over a year


MAINSITE Contemporary Art will host an opening reception for “The Left Hand of Liminality,” an art collaboration from artists Denise Duong and Gabriel Friedman, on May 14 as a part of the the first in-person 2nd Friday Art Walk since the pandemic began. 
The exhibit will open in conjunction with the art walk and will be the first in-person opening event held by MAINSITE since February 2020, according to a tweet from the Norman Arts Council. Duong and Friedman’s exhibition will run through July 9 and features works inspired by the tumultuous feelings surrounding the pandemic, according to the Norman Arts Council website.  ....

Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series: A series of live, free music concerts continues from 7-9 p.m. May 7 with a performance by Sideline, supported by Justin Mason and the Blue Nights, at Webb Field, 1501 W. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala. This is part of the Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series. Concerts will feature an array of cultural performers each week, with a grand finale June 25. The show follows the evolution and adventures of a group of friends as they journey through time, from the present to the past and back again, sharing stories about friendship, love, hiding, laughing, living, dying and middle school in an attempt to step directly into that elusive “present moment.” Tickets, free, can be ordered at cf.edu/now.
