The death of COAS Ibrahim Attahiru has thrown up the issue of who heads the Nigerian Army.

Mr Attahiru and 10 other military officers died in a military plane crash that occurred in Kaduna.
They were on their way to Zaria for the passing out parade of regular recruits slated for the next day.
The officers, including three brigadier generals, have since been buried at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja.
Mr Attahiru was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari as the 21st COAS on January 26 alongside other service chiefs, including the Chief of Defence Staff, Lucky Irabor; Chief of Naval Staff, Gambo Awwal, and Chief of Air Staff, Isiaka Amao. ....

The Nigerian Navy has redeployed 257 senior officers, including 60 rear admirals, 123 commodores and 74 captains.
In the postings announced in a statement on Saturday by the Nigerian Navy spokesman, Suleman Dahun, Rear Admiral Francis Isaac, formerly the Navy Secretary, has been appointed Chief of Administration, Naval Headquarters while Rear Admiral Abraham Adaji, formerly Group Managing Director, Nigerian Navy Holdings Limited is now the Chief of Training and Operations, Naval Headquarters.
Rear Admiral Danjuma Dogonyaro moves to Naval Doctrine and Assessment Centre, Lagos, as Admiral Superintendent, while Rear Admiral Taiye Imam has been reappointed Director of Administration, Naval Headquarters. Denver Newsroom, Apr 23, 2020 / 02:35 pm (CNA).- A British judge’s order requiring a contraceptive device be implanted in a woman with learning disabilities against her will is “deeply problematic,” a bioethicist has said.
Justice Gwynneth Knowles issued a written ruling April 21 after a hearing at the Court of Protection in London that took place via Skype due to the coronavirus lockdown.
The BBC reported that the judge decided that an implanted contraceptive device would be in the best interests of the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons.
She said the woman, who is in her 20s and pregnant, lacked the mental capacity to make decisions about contraception. The court heard that the woman had given birth to a number of children, who have been taken into foster care. Specialists noted that she had suffered from a number of health problems and argued that further pregnancies could present significant risks. ....
