Eight other overseas Filipinos have recovered, according to the latest tally released by the DFA.
This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases since the outbreak began in February last year to 20,267.
The DFA, however, did not disclose the countries where the surge in the number of new cases and new fatalities were recorded.
Out of the total, 12,085 have so far recovered, 6,965 are still undergoing treatment and a total of 1,217 died of COVID-19 complications.
To date, the total number of countries and territories with confirmed cases among Filipinos remains at 94.
Since last year, the Middle East and Africa continue to have the most numbers in all categories, namely the total number of cases (11,531), recoveries (6,293), undergoing treatment (4,426), and deaths (812).
