A Rush councillor has asked the council to review the county s beach facilities to cater for all-round use and not just in the summer season. Cllr Brian Dennehy asked Fingal County Council to outline any plans in existance or any reviews due to be carried out of our beach facilities in order to captivate the extended period of usage of our beaches from the traditional seasonal period to currently all year round which can be witnessed on a daily basis along the beaches of Fingal . In response, the council stated: Since the start of the pandemic, with the closure of pools nationally, open water swimming in rivers, lakes and the sea has seen a surge in popularity. There are currently no changing facilities or showering facilities operated by the Council for open swimmers. ....
