The signed document means that the public policies of the municipality of Solidaridad are homologated in line with the Maya Train project, whose executing agency will be Fonatur. Beristain Navarrete said that the project, which is promoted by the President of Mexico, through her signature will give order and legal certainty and employ thousands of families, while respecting the environment.

Tulum mayor, Victor Mas Tah, has confirmed the separation. The mayor has clarified that Eugenio Barbachano Losa, director of Tourism of the Tulum City Council, will remain separated from his position during an investigation into allegations of inappropriate behavior. He said that the investigation is being headed by the Municipal Comptroller’s Office, but did not provide details. He only noted that it was the Comptroller’s Office who made the request for the separation.
